Transformative solutions.
Our solutions harness one-of-a-kind, aggregated cross-carrier and cross-provider data to shape efficient, effective, high-quality healthcare for employees:
Data and Analytics—aggregating and analyzing data to objectively identify the most effective providers and treatments.
Pharmaceutical—member-only PBM partnerships include market-leading terms, increased savings, and formulary development participation —all rooted in financial transparency.
Consumer Engagement—insights in employee hands via consumer technology to inform healthcare choices.
Medical—proprietary provider networks incentivized by outcomes not volume.
“Doing this means that our employees and their families get the best care the first time for the right price—that equals value.”
“Working together we are building the foundation and setting strategies that will transform healthcare...ensuring the highest quality care at the best price for all of our employees. That’s a pretty powerful mission!”
“As a founding member of the Health Transformation Alliance, NextEra Energy has received real value from working together, sharing best practices and strategies, and learning from each other to drive better health outcomes. We hope to leverage the members’ considerable expertise to deliver even greater value to our employees.”

Why Join?
Our purpose — our entire reason for being — is to improve health outcomes for people and their families. We know better health outcomes improve people’s lives and make healthcare more affordable.
Our Members’ healthcare benefits are more effective and affordable because we improve the quality and efficiency of care for their employees, retirees, and their families. We target existing practices in the supply chain so healthcare costs don’t spiral further out of control.
We address a top concern of employers and employees: the rising cost of healthcare.
According to Kaiser Family Foundation, the average premiums of employer-provided health coverage passed $20,000 for a family plan in 2019, a 5 percent annual increase, with employers paying on average 71 percent of that cost. The employee-paid portion of premium costs rose even faster in 2019, growing 8 percent. Unabated cost increases are not sustainable for anyone.
Our unique, aggregated data provide immediate, actionable insights to optimize self-insured employer benefits strategy.
Harnessing the power of data is essential to fixing our broken healthcare system, and aggregated data from HTA Member companies provide insights far beyond what a single company can produce.

Our Start
By and for self-insured employers.
Our founding Chief Human Resources Officers (CHROs) knew that while public-provided health care (Medicare/Medicaid) makes up a majority of volume, employer-provided health care contributes a majority of the profit in the healthcare supply chain—meaning employers effectively subsidize the system without any upside despite paying more.
The May 2015 Call to Action by the American Health Policy Institute catalyzed HTA formation by signaling that employers were ready for a new approach to securing better health coverage for employees, retirees, and their families. That year, the founders formed a Cooperative of five initial Members, creating an alliance to forge a new employer-centric healthcare approach.
Five companies grew quickly to 20 and HTA launched in February 2016, as reported by The Wall Street Journal. Today 50+ HTA Members own the Cooperative, representing an array of industries and regions across the United States—including many of the most influential and significant brands in the country.
